In fact, it’s such a compelling, simple and obvious idea that even after seven years, we never really thought about doing it. “Easy,” “simple” and “obvious” are just not wildly appealing concepts to us. Two things have changed. First, well, you know Second, however, is our realization that taking a deeper, more “curated” look at what vom Boden does, is not really that easy. Even our most main-stream wines are fairly niche. Quantities for certain bottles we’d consider “core” are absurdly small. The truth is the real day-to-day practice of importing small-grower wines often times means selling out of a wine just as it’s beginning to catch on. So let’s give this a try. Here’s the basic promise: You pay $300 for a mixed case (twelve 750ml bottles) and we do our sincere and honest best to take you on a vinous journey that is, we think, delicious. We can guarantee you the bottles will be singular, unexpected, curious. The collection has been curated for spring drinking. A few bottles, like Lauer’s 2019 “Barrel X” just landed a few weeks ago. The 2019 Migot Vin Gris landed LAST WEEK and it is electricity. The mix contains five white wines, three rosés (one a very curious sort of rosé) and four red wines. We can guarantee the experience will be authentic, but it won’t be obvious. So, included with this mixed case will be a user’s guide, written by yours truly going, in some depth, into the wines and the growers, tasting notes, maps, pictures and all that stuff – but also cultural musings beyond the wines. Wine is just the access point; it’s just the beginning. What’s really important is how the wine can bring you to the larger culture, the villages, the people behind the wines. This is where the fun is. This is the journey. Join us? Just email us to begin. the vom Boden “spring experience” mixed case – $300 > includes 12 x 750ml wines; does not include tax or shipping > mixed cases will begin shipping next Wednesday! > cases include the following, no substitutions!
